Ontology-driven · AI-powered · Private by design

Business apps you can just talk to.

I build ontology-driven, AI-powered apps for small and medium-sized businesses. Describe what you need in plain English, ask questions of your own data in plain English, and get an app that always matches the way your business really works.

Plain-English interaction Your data stays private Spreadsheets to apps Built for UK SMEs

Which jobs are running behind this week?

Your app: Here are the late jobs, grouped by engineer, with the customer for each. Shall I draft an update to each customer?

Yes, and add a rule: no job can be booked without an engineer.

Your app: Drafted. The new rule is ready to review in Test before it goes live.

The story of ontology-based apps

Write your business down once.

An ontology sounds grand, but the idea is simple: a clear, written description of how your business works. Everything else is generated from it.

Your things

The nouns of your business: customers, jobs, products, invoices, engineers, suppliers.

Their relationships

How those things connect: a customer places jobs, a job is done by an engineer, a job is billed on an invoice.

Your rules

What must always be true: every job needs an engineer, an invoice needs an approved job.

An example ontology Four things, Customer, Job, Engineer and Invoice, joined by labelled relationships, with two example business rules. places done by billed on receives Customer Job Engineer Invoice Rule: every job needs an engineer Rule: invoices need an approved job

Your ontology

Things, relationships and rules, written down once.

Database schema

Tables and links generated, not hand-drawn.

Business rules

Enforced consistently, everywhere in the app.

The app itself

Screens and workflows that use your own words.

An AI you can talk to

It understands your business because it reads the same ontology.

Because the database, the rules and the app all come from the same description, they can never drift apart. Change the ontology and the app follows, so the software always matches the business.

Architecture

Private, tidy and built to last.

Each customer gets their own Test and Live environments. Everything the AI needs runs alongside the app, inside your boundary.

Architecture overview A control plane feeds a private build server. The build server deploys to the customer's Test server and, once approved, the same build to the Live server. Each server contains the app, a database, local AI and an MCP gateway. Data stays private and public AI providers are blocked. CUSTOMER’S PRIVATE ENVIRONMENT Control plane Ontology, changes, approvals and access control Private build server Generates, checks and packages each version of your app Test server Try changes safely Appyour screens Databaseyour data Local AIlanguage model MCPgatewaysafe tool access Live server Where your business runs Appyour screens Databaseyour data Local AIlanguage model MCPgatewaysafe tool access 1 • Deploy to Test 2 • Promote the same build to Live Public internet AI Your data never goes here

Data stays private

The app, database, local AI and MCP gateway all sit inside your environment. Nothing is sent to public AI providers.

Test before Live

Every change lands on your Test server first, so you can see it working before it touches the business.

One build, two places

The build you approved in Test is the very same build promoted to Live. No surprises.

Hosting options

Two ways to keep your AI private.

Both options keep your data away from the public internet and public AI providers. The difference is who shares the hardware.

MAXIMUM CONTROL

1. Fully sovereign

Your own large language model, running on your own dedicated servers. It is yours alone, and nothing leaves.

  • Your own LLM on dedicated servers
  • Nothing leaves your environment
  • Best fit where data is highly sensitive or tightly regulated
  • Full control over where and how it runs
KEEPS COSTS DOWN

2. Shared private AI

A jointly-hosted LLM that lives inside our private network. It is multi-tenanted to keep costs down, and still never sends your data to the internet or to public AI providers.

  • Jointly-hosted LLM inside our private network
  • Multi-tenanted, so the cost is shared
  • Your data is never sent to the internet or public AI providers
  • A great fit for most SMEs

How changes happen

Ask for a change. Approve it. Done.

Your business will change, and your app should keep up. Here is the journey of a change, from a sentence in plain English to your live system.

  1. 1

    You ask

Describe the change in plain English.

  2. 2

    Ontology and app updated

The description of your business changes, and the app is regenerated from it.

  3. 3

    Automated checks

Tests run to catch problems before you ever see them.

  4. 4

    Deployed to Test

The new version appears on your Test server.

  5. 5

    You approve

Try it, then give the go-ahead.

  6. 6

    Promoted to Live

The same build you approved goes live.

Safe rollback

If something is not right, go back to the previous version. Changes are packaged as versions, so stepping back is quick and calm.

Access by role and capability

People, and the AI itself, can only see and do what their role allows. You decide who can ask for changes, who can approve them and who can go live.

Why HA Consulting

Made for businesses like yours.

Big-business software ideas, delivered at a sensible scale for small and medium-sized companies across the UK.

SME focus

Built around how smaller businesses really work, with no enterprise bloat and no jargon.

Spreadsheets to apps

Outgrown your spreadsheets? I turn them into proper apps with real rules, real structure and an assistant you can ask.

Your data, your say

Your information is organised once, in your own words, and used consistently across the whole app.

Sovereignty by design

Choose a fully sovereign set-up or a shared private one. Either way, your data stays off public AI.

Speed

Because the app is generated from the ontology, changes arrive quickly and stay consistent.
